Interesting last day in London......................

A fine start to the day!!!!
We dropped our things off to Ailsa and had morning tea with her.
We then did an inspection of Kensington Palace. Fascinating - set in beautiful grassed parklands in the centre of London. Charles & Diana lived there and Kate and William will. Victoria grew up there and she and Albert and family lived.
As well as the Kings and Queen's Rooms there were their wedding outfits, cloaks; Victoria's mourning outfits (she was tiny (4' 11"); and clothes & fashions worn by various Queen Elizabeth, Diana & Princess Margaret.
It was still fine and sunny when I took photos of the grounds from the windows but when we came out at 1.45 it looked black and threatening - it poured at 2pm and continued all afternoon.
Loved the signs for the loos!

We walked down to Harrods - all lit up - soooooo busy!
When we came out to go down to the tube, our line was closed because of a 'fire scare'!!!!
It took us 3 hours to get back 'home' (wrong buses! & trains around it all!) Everyone affected just the same. Buses crammed with people - people banging on the doors when the driver would not let anyone else on! We were lucky to get seats & the lady next to me spent the whole time skyping her mother in Philippines!!!!!!
