Denver to Salt Lake City

We arrived at Salt Lake City at 10.40pm Saturday night after wonderful scenic train trip from Denver. We passed the tall angular Flat Iron peaks out of Denver, climbed the snow covered Rocky Mths, passed through them in the Munroe Tunnel (15 mins) then on through Glenwood Canyon where the road (often double layers because tight for space!), the Colorado River & the railway track run beside each other! Spectacular views from the full topped glass Observation Car; then across vineyard flatland to the tall red cliffs, canyons, canes & pillars of Utah - wonderful!

Sunday - we walked the few blocks into Temple Square - Downtown - arrived 9.50, to find out Monmon Tabenacle Choir sing 9.30 - 10am!!!! Missed it by minutes. However went to Roman Catholic Mass at the Cathedral at 11am - choir singing & massive organ - Warren each night from now until new year very impressed. Walked Temple Square & heard Organ Recital in the Tabenacle at 2pm. Acoustics PERFECT!

ALL Temple Square is lit up at night for Christmas from 5pm. They have a full sized Nativity scene on the lawn that tells the Christmas story during the day as well.
