Kinross - Strathmiglo - Falkland - Cupar in Scotland

Kinross – Strathmiglo – Falkland - Cupar, Scotland
We spent 2 nights at a lovely B&B in Kinross. Over the next two days we visited the villages where Jen’s late husband’s (Brian Sharp) family came from. We visited old churches & cemeteries (from 1647), quaint villages and farms. The weather was fine & sunny – even blue sky!
I think our favourite was Falkland – it has a palace (built 1539) which Mary, Queen of Scots used as a Hunting Lodge. The tiny stone houses (oldest 503 years old!) and narrow roads incredible.
We had lunch at Kind Kytoch’s Kitchen, opposite a lovely park where Johnny Cash sang & presented a seat – as his family originally from the area.
Farmers are busy ploughing fields, fertilising & sewing crops. Lots of rolled hay in other fields; also broccoli & potatoes being harvested everywhere! Lots of apple trees, strawberries & covered plant & shrub nursery ‘farms’.

We travelled to PerthDundee – Errol – Forgandenny – Longforgan to again check out the Sharps’ – found one family gravestone!
